Who am I?
My name is Michelle Kelly and I am currently the 7/8 grade math teacher at Armand R. Dupont School in Allenstown, New Hampshire. I graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, New Hampshire in June 2005.
The following Fall I began my undergraduate at Plymouth State
University. Here I was honored to be on
the field hockey team for a year and the softball team
for three years while
earning my degree in mathematics education with teacher certification 5-8. I was also awarded the Barbara Smith Dearborn
Mathematics Endowed Scholarship from Plymouth State university for two years,
as well as a similar award my senior year.
I graduated from Plymouth State in May of 2009 and that summer I was
very lucky to be offered a position at ARD and have been there ever since. This past year I have had the opportunity to
serve on the Restructuring Committee as well as take part in the TLC (Tech
Leaders cohort) grant.
Why blog?
This summer I have been given a unique opportunity to be
part of the RETE (Research Experiences for Teachers in Engineering) program at
UNH. This program entails two parts: a
research project and expected science poster as well as the creation or
modification of a lesson plan or curriculum
unit that utilizes the research I
have done. I am excited to share the
steps of my journey so others can share in my enthusiasm of applying mathematics
in the research setting.
Great Job!!
